Anne Foss, AIT's New Cultural Affairs Officer, Visited NTPU

Miss Anne Foss, a New Cultural Affairs Officer at the American Institute in Taiwan (AIT), led the English Language Fellow, Ramon A. Mislang, and the coordinator of the English Language Specialist Program, Jenning King, to visit NTPU on September 24, 2024.

The Dean of Academic Affairs, Jen-Chun Chang, and the Supervisor of the Language Center, Sue-Han Ueng, effusively received this visit. Dean Chang sincerely welcomed the visit of the Cultural Affairs Officer Anne Foss and her team. Also, he particularly thanked AIT for arranging the support of English Language Specialist Joseph Siegel and English Language Fellow Ramon A. Mislang, who assisted in developing the Program on Bilingual Education for College Students by holding teacher and student training, as well as various workshops and lectures at our school. Dean Chang hoped that through this exchange, both parties could share their experiences in English Teaching one another and further improve collaboration in the future.

Cultural Affairs Officer Anne Foss said this was her second time attending NTPU. On September 21, 2024, AIT collaborated with the Taiwan Women’s Sports Association. She was received by the Vice President for Academics & Research, Dar-Hsin Chen, and held sports empowerment and soccer exchange workshops at NTPU. She indicated it was nice today that she could appreciate the beauty of the campus environment and particularly acclaimed the university's efforts devoted to Multicultural Education. After that, the AIT team went to the Language Center to work on practice exchanges, such as conducting bilingual education and training teachers and students. This meeting not only deepened both parties’ relationship but also laid the foundation for collaboration in the future.

A series of workshops by the English Language Fellow Ramon A. Mislang is upcoming in October. EMI Teacher Training also will start from March to May 2025. We believe that these programs can breathe new life into the target towards the beacon bilingual university.
